Maintenance items that aren't so obvious

There's an old saying, "what you don't know, can't hurt you". That may be true when comes to some things in life, but not when it relates to your engine's performance or efficiency.

This is a close up of a 35,000 mile engine air filter that was long over due for replacement. Depending on driving conditions, such as dusty roads, your engine's air filter may experience longer or shorter service life.

This what a fresh engine air filter looks like. Of course over time, any engine air filter will slowly start to get dirty and plugged up, reducing the ability for the engine to easily take in air.

Here are both filters side by side. Imagine jogging and then putting a scarf over your face while running. Which is easier for "your engine" with or without something blocking your air intake?

Remember, details like these are sometimes overlooked by other shops because they don't/can't carry every single air filter for every car they work on. Whereas, we specialize in Lexus cars and only carry Genuine Factory Replacement Parts that are guaranteed to fit and work correctly for every Lexus model.
